Kelbert Football

My family-the Kelbert side-is a football family. As much as mom would like to deny it, we are. As long as I can remember, I have watched it on T.V., my brothers have played it and it is my favorite sport to watch. My brother, Chris, is the head varsity coach for Livonia Franklin. So you can find us, the Nugent's, most Friday nights in the fall on the west side cheering on the Patriots. I, Kelly, tend to get pretty crazy, jumping and carrying on. I am not alone in this. Jen, my sister-in-law, usually has a stomach ache. Dad is biting his nails in anticipation, and mom is a nervous wreak most games. The girls have been going to the games since before they were born. Mike has been a gracious convert to the sport as the popular NY sport was hockey.

My nephews, Jacob and Drew, are big fans of coach dad and his team. They are at every game cheering on the team. It is a family affair.
My brother, coach Kelbert, was telling a story the other night about Friday's game. My dad isn't able to stand on the sidelines this season as is his tradition. But Chris told dad he could still hear him yelling, "Go Offense" through the large crowd. Chris said he looked up and was able to pick dad out of the crowd by his voice. I guess you'll always recognize the voice that has always been there, every game, every loss and win.
Brother Ken is the stats keeper and Christina now has been dragged into the families' crazy Friday nights. By the way, the Franklin Patriots played awesome. Chris had lost 4 starters this past week and they weren't predicted to win. But they did win with the most points Chris' team had ever scored in a game. Go PATS!

That's cool that you and your girls and your whole family will always have those football memories. Love what you shared about your Dad...how your brother could pick his voice and place out in the crowd. That's special...very sweet.
