The kids, and adults, got time to play at the indoor water park at the conference center. I think this was about 50% of the reason most of the kids were so excited to come to the competition.

Nicole's teammates, Julia and McKayla, taking a break from the serious competition.

This is the Mason family. They are the teams coaches. They are so awesome. They really loved teaching the kids and sacrificed a lot of time and energy to get the kids ready for the competition and organize the trip. We really appreciate them.

This is the buzzer set up for the competition. And these kids are fast on those buzzers. They know the material so well, that only a few words in the question get asked before they buzz in with the answer.

Nicole's team, the Nugget's, had a wonderful tournament. I know the kids didn't really know what to expect at this competition but were really shocked to see how well they did. On the first day of competition they split the teams into PODS. There are about 9 teams in each pod and they compete for placement. The girls ended up 4th in their pod that day. On the second day, the kids compete in a double elimination round with 54 teams. The girls placed 9th out of the 54 teams! Wow, what an accomplishment!
