My Big "Little Girls"

About a year ago, Nicole started asking if she could redecorate her room. She proclaimed that the pink little girl room was no longer what she thought she should have. I had been putting off this redecoration process for a while and she just wasn't going to have it any more. So right after Christmas, I thought "why this is the PERFECT time to take on a project". This wasn't my brightest idea ever. We happened to go into the closing Linens and things store and luckily the girls picked out bedding and colors and designed their rooms right there on the spot. And it was all within mom and dad's price range. I was really impressed at the girls' choices. Somewhat grown-up and very trendy. Even Mike and I loved their picks. So here are some pictures to show you the results. Nicole decided to stay put in her old room, but Rachel moved to Morgan's old room and Morgan moved to Rachel's old room(the bigger of the three rooms).
Mike painted Nicole's room. I painted some old furniture and spruced up a valance. We ordered some vinyl decals online and that was it. Quite easy in my opinion. Nicole got to pick a scripture for her wall and she choose Psalms 86:11, "Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth". She pretty much designed the room and that was the fun part seeing it all come together.

This is one of my favorite touches to the room. I found this at JoAnn's and it matched the room perfect. A sewing box converted to Nicole's "I need a space for all of my trinkets that I can't part with" box.

Morgan's room was soooooo easy to transform. She was content with the wall color, so no painting needed. She picked out her comforter and wall decals at Linens and things. All we had to do was move some furniture, stick up some decals and add curtains.

I really love how her room came out. The colors really fit her personality and I think she is loving her bigger space.

This was another great find a JoAnn's. Morgan's favorite part of her new room. One of the sticky notes reads, "I love my dad, he is the best". I swear, no prompting from Mike on that one.

Found a great website that made up these vinyl decals for not that much$$$.
I am glad to have this project done so early in 2009, because it was on my list for 2008. Here's to procrastination.
