T-Ball

Nicole is playing T-Ball for the second year. She plays on her elementary school's league-New Haven Little League. We have really enjoyed this league, all of the kids get a turn and there is a good team spirit. Nicole is a great hitter. She really loves to practice this part of the game in our back yard. Catching the ball is another story. Usually when she gets the ball thrown to her, she puts her hand over her face. Great for the looks, not so great for her skills. From the picture you can see her pink bat that reads "Girls Rule". She also has a pink mit that Uncle Chris and Aunt Jen bought for her last year.
She plays on the Orioles with her buddy Ian-the natural, as we like to call him. This is Nicole's close buddy who is in her 1st grade classroom and is our neighbor and friend. Ian is 3 months younger than Nicole. Look for him in the big leagues one day.
The family likes to watch the games and sister Morgan likes to chant "ORIOLES" with the best of them. Rachel on the other hand, as you can see from the pictures likes to throw, eat and rub dirt in her hair. O what fun for mom and dad who make T-Ball nights bath nights. Mom is grateful the T-Ball season ends the last week of June!

Memorial Day 2008

Yesterday, we had a great Memorial Day holiday. After multiple explainations to the girls on the meaning of the holiday we were off the the Royal Oak Memorial Day parade. The girls were extremely excited about the parade and the fact that we were meeting grandma, papa and Uncle Kenny there.

Nicole, Morgan and Rachel waved their flags, clapped their hands and swayed to the music as the bands and floats went by. Nicole and Morgan were trying their best to look "adorable" and get the attention of the local news channel that was filming across the street. Do you think they were "adorable"?

All in all our day was blessed with beautiful weather (high in the 80's), good company and great food.
